Protekt AT403 anchor point for timber structures
The Protekt AT403 is an anchor point for connecting a personal fall protection system for one user to a load-bearing timber structure. Its hinged construction is suitable for applications such as pitched timber roofs, roof structures, timber beams and glulam beams, provided that the manufacturer's installation and structural strength requirements are met.
Product being phased out: This orange version of the AT403 is being removed from Protecton's range. It will be replaced by the new Protekt AT403_KIT, supplied with screws for installation on timber structures.

Applications
The Protekt AT403 is suitable for fall protection systems installed on timber roofs, roof trusses, structural timber beams, sawn timber and glulam beams. It is intended for applications requiring a fixed anchor point for one user and a load-bearing timber substrate that meets the manufacturer's requirements.
One device suitable for horizontal operation and complying with EN 353-2, EN 358 or EN 360 may be connected to the anchor point. The connected device must be used in accordance with its own instructions.
Safety and compliance
The AT403 is a Type A anchor device in accordance with EN 795:2012. The mounting substrate must be a load-bearing timber beam measuring at least 70 x 70 mm, and the fixed structural anchorage point must have a minimum static strength of 12 kN.
Installation, use and inspections must follow the manufacturer's instructions. The fall path, risk of falling over an edge, required clearance and rescue arrangements must be assessed before use. An anchor point that has been involved in arresting a fall must be removed from service in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
The AT403 is not intended for lifting loads, protecting multiple users simultaneously, or installation on concrete or steel structures.
Installation on timber
The anchor point is fastened to the load-bearing timber structure using nails or wood screws with a diameter of 4 mm. The fasteners must be at least 70 mm long.

Service life and inspections
The anchor point may be used for five years from the date of first use. After this period, a factory inspection must be carried out by the manufacturer or a party authorised by the manufacturer to determine any further service period. The device must also be inspected at the intervals specified in the user instructions.
