PROTEKT WR040HV 2 m Webbing Retractable Fall Arrester

The PROTEKT WR040HV is a 2-metre retractable fall arrester designed for vertical and horizontal use by one person. Its automatically retracting polyester webbing follows the user’s movements, while the internal braking mechanism locks the webbing in the event of a fall. The integrated energy absorber limits the arrest force, and its heat-shrink plastic protective sleeve helps protect it against wear and dirt.

The WR040HV is also suitable for use inside the basket of a mobile elevating work platform, provided that the approved anchorage point, required clearance and other operating conditions comply with the product instructions and the workplace fall protection plan. The device may be anchored at the user’s foot level but must not be installed below foot level.

Applications

The WR040HV is suitable for installation, service and maintenance work at height, as well as construction and industrial applications. Its compact design also makes it practical for mobile elevating work platforms and work baskets where operating space is limited.

The device has been tested for horizontal use and falls over a Type A edge. The test used a burr-free steel edge with a radius of 0.5 mm. Sharp or burred edges, or any edge presenting a risk of cutting the webbing, require a separate risk assessment and suitable edge protection where necessary.

Safety and compliance

The PROTEKT WR040HV is personal protective equipment conforming to EN 360:2023 and the requirements of PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425. It is intended to provide fall protection for one person as part of a compatible fall arrest system. The webbing connector is attached to an A-marked fall arrest point on an EN 361 full-body harness, while the device mechanism is connected to the structural anchorage point.

Suitability for the application, anchorage strength, fall factor and required clearance must be assessed before use. Depending on the configuration, clearance of up to 5.4 metres may be required beneath the user. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and the workplace rescue plan.
