ProBelt 200 Guided Fall Arrester
The ProBelt 200 series is a guided type fall arrester on a flexible anchor line for vertical work-at-height applications. The complete system includes a 12 mm polyester rope, galvanised steel rope grab, polyamide energy absorber and AZ002 connector. Rope lengths are available from 5 to 50 metres.
Key features
- Rope lengths of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 m
- 12 mm flexible polyester anchor line
- Steel rope grab that travels along the working rope
- Integrated polyamide energy absorber
- AZ002 connector for attachment to a safety harness
- Protection for one user
- Maximum user weight of 140 kg
- Compliant with EN 353-2:2002
Applications
The ProBelt 200 series is suitable for vertical work on construction sites, in industrial maintenance and in other work-at-height applications. The upper end of the rope is connected to a suitable anchorage point above the user. The guided rope grab travels with the user along the rope and locks in the event of a fall.
This is a fall arrest system, not a restraint system designed to prevent access to a fall hazard. The user manual permits a maximum deviation of 15 degrees from vertical. The product is not suitable as a horizontally installed roof safety line, and the rope must not contact or pass around sharp or cutting edges.
Safety and compliance
The ProBelt 200 is a CE-marked guided type fall arrester on a flexible anchor line compliant with EN 353-2:2002. It is intended for one user with a maximum weight of 140 kg. The rope grab is permanently attached to the working rope and must not be removed.
The rope grab connector must be attached to a fall arrest point marked with a capital letter A on an EN 361 full-body harness. The flexible anchor line is connected using an EN 362 connector or an EN 795 anchorage device. The structural anchorage point must have a minimum static strength of 12 kN.
The total length of the energy absorber and its connector must not exceed 44 cm. The basic minimum clearance below the user’s feet is 3.5 m. For rope lengths greater than 20 metres, this clearance must be increased by 5% of the selected rope length.
Rope lengths and required clearance
| Rope length | Minimum clearance below feet |
|---|---|
| 5 m | 3.5 m |
| 10 m | 3.5 m |
| 15 m | 3.5 m |
| 20 m | 3.5 m |
| 25 m | 4.75 m |
| 30 m | 5.0 m |
| 35 m | 5.25 m |
| 40 m | 5.5 m |
| 45 m | 5.75 m |
| 50 m | 6.0 m |

Inspection and service life
The rope, rope grab, locking mechanism, energy absorber, stitching and connectors must be checked before every use. A competent person must perform a periodic inspection at least every 12 months and record it on the product identity card. The device must be withdrawn from use immediately if it has arrested a fall, fails an inspection or there is any doubt about its reliability. Its maximum lifespan is 10 years from the date of manufacture, although usage intensity and environmental conditions may shorten it.
