Annual safety harness inspection for companies and professionals
Annual inspection is an essential part of maintaining safe fall protection equipment. The purpose of the inspection is to verify that safety harnesses remain safe for use and comply with manufacturer requirements and applicable inspection practices.
Protecton performs safety harness and fall protection inspections at its Kerava and Turku locations. We inspect products from all major manufacturers regardless of where they were purchased.
What is included in the inspection?
Each product is carefully inspected to determine whether it remains safe for continued use.
- Textile component inspection
- Stitching inspection
- Metal hardware inspection
- Identification marking verification
- General condition assessment
- Inspection documentation
Approved products receive an inspection marking showing the next inspection period. An inspection report is provided either electronically or as a printed document.
Inspection philosophy
The purpose of the inspection is not to reject equipment unnecessarily or create replacement sales. The primary objective is safety.
Products are approved whenever their safe use can be verified. Equipment is rejected only when safety can no longer be ensured.
A zero-tolerance approach is applied to safety-critical defects.
Typical rejection criteria
- Permanent marker markings on textile components
- Damage to load-bearing structures
- Deep fraying affecting structural integrity
- Other defects impacting safe use
Minor surface wear does not automatically result in rejection. Every product is evaluated individually based on its overall condition and safety.
