PROTEKT RUP 502 Manual Rescue Lifting Device

The PROTEKT RUP 502 is a manually operated rescue lifting device designed for raising a person from a lower level as part of a planned rescue system. Equipped with an automatic brake and galvanised steel wire rope, the device can be mounted on a compatible PROTEKT tripod, a fixed flat surface or a steel profile in accordance with the instructions for use.

Applications

The RUP 502 is intended for rescue systems where a rescued person must be raised from a lower level. Suitable applications may include tanks, manholes, service spaces and other confined areas, provided that the device is compatible with the site-specific rescue plan and the other equipment used in the system.

Safety and compliance

The RUP 502 complies with EN 1496:2017/B. It is intended exclusively for rescue purposes and must not be used as a fall arrest device or for lifting materials or other loads. Lowering with the device is limited to a maximum distance of two metres. Rescue descents require a descender complying with EN 341.

The device must be inspected before every use. A periodic inspection must be completed at least every 12 months by a competent and appropriately trained person. Always consult the instructions for use and verify the compatibility of the complete rescue system before use.
