The Protekt AZ411 is a 5.0-metre anchorage cable for forming a temporary anchor point. Manufactured from PVC-coated galvanised steel cable, the device is suitable for the simultaneous fall protection of up to three users in installation configurations approved by the manufacturer. Its extended length is suited to large structural elements and applications requiring additional reach.
The AZ411 is suitable for forming a temporary anchor point around a load-bearing beam, column or another suitable structural element. The five-metre version provides additional reach for wrapping around large structures or positioning the connection away from the main supporting structure.
The cable may also be used as an attachment component with a LifeLiner anchorage system, for example when the anchor line needs to be raised above floor level to reduce wear. Compatibility and the correct installation method must be verified using the instructions for both the AZ411 and the LifeLiner system.
The fall indicator integrated into the AZ411 end loop deforms, bends or breaks when subjected to an instantaneous force of approximately 3–4 kN. This is the activation level of the indicator, not the breaking strength of the anchorage cable. If the indicator is damaged or deformed, the complete AZ411 must be removed from service and replaced.
The Protekt AZ411 complies with EN 795:2012 Type B and CEN/TS 16415:2013. It may be used by up to three people simultaneously only in installation configurations approved by the manufacturer.
When the device forms part of a fall arrest system, each user must be equipped with a system that limits the dynamic force applied during fall arrest to no more than 6 kN. The strength of the supporting structure, positioning of the cable and compatibility of the complete system must be verified before use. The product is not intended for lifting loads.
The AZ411 must be inspected before every use and undergo a detailed periodic inspection by a competent person or an authorised service centre at least every 12 months. The manufacturer does not specify a fixed maximum service life for a correctly functioning device. Continued use depends on operating conditions, frequency of use and the condition of the product. Equipment that has arrested a fall, is damaged or fails an inspection must be removed from service.
