Protekt Cable AZ410 anchorage cable for fall protection

The Protekt Cable AZ410 is a PVC-coated galvanised steel anchorage cable for personal fall protection systems. It can be wrapped around a suitable load-bearing structural element to form a temporary anchor point. The available lengths make it easier to select a suitable cable for different beams, pipes and other supporting structures.

Applications

The AZ410 is suitable for temporary anchorage on construction sites, in industrial facilities, during maintenance work and in other applications where a fall protection system must be attached around a load-bearing beam, pipe or another suitable structural element.

The cable may be used as a temporary Type B anchor device under EN 795:2012. When used as an EN 354 lanyard, it must be combined with an EN 355 energy absorber, and the total subsystem length including connectors must not exceed 2 metres. Longer AZ410 variants are therefore primarily intended for use as anchor devices.

Safety and compliance

The Protekt AZ410 complies with EN 354:2010 and EN 795:2012 Type B. When used independently, the cable is intended for the personal fall protection of one user. The AZ410 may form part of an AE320 anchorage system for up to three users, but the multi-user rating applies to the correctly assembled complete system, not to an individual cable used as a standalone anchor device.

The strength of the supporting structure, cable length, required clearance and compatibility of the complete system must be verified in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The product is not intended for lifting loads.

Inspections and service life

The cable must be inspected before every use and undergo a periodic inspection by a competent person at least every 12 months. The manufacturer does not specify a fixed maximum service life; continued use depends on operating conditions, frequency of use and the condition of the product. A cable that has arrested a fall or fails an inspection must be removed from service.
