The Kratos Safety KALYPSO FA 20 401 30 is a retractable fall arrester featuring a 30-metre galvanised steel wire rope and an integrated rescue winch. It is designed for single-user fall protection and for lifting or controlled lowering of a person during an emergency.
The self-retracting wire rope follows the user's movement and locks if a fall occurs. The integrated crank-operated recovery function supports a planned rescue procedure. The device is suitable for vertical work and confined-space access when used as part of a compatible fall protection and rescue system.
KALYPSO is intended for vertical work where both fall arrest and a planned means of rescuing the user are required. The device can be fitted to a compatible Kratos Safety tripod or anchorage system using the adaptation kit specified by the manufacturer.
The recovery winch is intended solely for rescuing a person and must not be used for lifting materials or other loads. The lowering function is limited to a maximum distance of 2 metres. The device is not approved for use over or near sharp edges unless separately specified protection is provided.
The product is CE marked as Category III personal protective equipment and complies with PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425. The retractable fall arrester complies with EN 360:2023, while the integrated rescue lifting function complies with EN 1496:2017 Class B.
The ATEX classification is based on Directive 2014/34/EU and standards EN ISO 80079-36:2016 and EN ISO 80079-37:2016. The suitability of the device for the working environment and its compatibility with the complete fall protection system must be confirmed before use.
