Edelrid Velcro Hook Loop is a harness-mounted lanyard parking point designed for temporarily storing the unused connector of a twin-leg energy-absorbing lanyard. It keeps the connector out of the way while working and attaches to the harness with a hook-and-loop strap, allowing the holder to be positioned where it is most convenient for the user.
When using a twin-leg energy-absorbing lanyard, one connector may temporarily be disconnected from an anchorage point. The Velcro Hook Loop provides a dedicated parking position for this unused connector on the harness. This helps prevent a loose hook from interfering with movement when working on scaffolding, ladders or steel structures.
If a fall occurs while one leg of a twin energy-absorbing lanyard is parked in the Velcro Hook Loop, the holder releases the connector when subjected to the load. This prevents the parked lanyard leg from interfering with the deployment of the energy absorber. The holder also releases under other loads exceeding 5 kg.
The holder attaches to a suitable webbing or belt section of the harness using a hook-and-loop strap. No tools are required, and the holder can be removed and repositioned when necessary. The loop is oriented at 90° to make attaching and removing the connector easier during work.
Edelrid Velcro Hook Loop is particularly suitable for scaffolders, construction and maintenance personnel, and other professionals working at height with twin-leg energy-absorbing lanyards. It can also be used to carry small tools or other lightweight equipment.
The Velcro Hook Loop is not a personal fall-protection attachment point. It must not be used as an anchorage or fall-arrest attachment point for a lanyard. It is intended only for temporarily parking an unused connector or carrying lightweight equipment.
