AlphaTec™ 4000 Model 406 chemical protective overboots
AlphaTec™ 4000 Model 406 overboots are designed to protect footwear and the lower leg area from chemical splashes in demanding work environments. Their lightweight yet robust multi-layer barrier laminate, ultrasonically welded seams and silicone-free construction make them suitable for tasks requiring partial-body protection and controlled contamination risks.
Key features
- Multi-layer non-woven barrier laminate fabric
- Material permeation tested against more than 200 chemicals, including chemical warfare agents
- Ultrasonically welded seams support the protective construction
- Elasticated opening and tie fastening help secure the overboot
- Silicone-free construction helps reduce process-contamination risks
- Lightweight material with a robust, textile-like feel
Applications
The overboots are suitable for chemical handling, transferring liquids and solids, collecting raw material samples, and opening or draining pumps, valves and lines. Typical industries include process manufacturing, life sciences, mining, energy, fire and rescue, automotive operations and food processing.
Safety and compliance
AlphaTec™ 4000 Model 406 is CE Category III PPE certified for partial-body protection. It meets the requirements of EN ISO 13688:2013, EN 14126:2003 and EN 14605:2005 + A1:2009, including protection types PB[3] and PB[4]. These overboots are worn over separate footwear and are not standalone safety footwear. Suitability for a specific chemical must be confirmed using the relevant permeation test data.
